Our Story
Udaan Entertainment LLP was born out of the sheer determination of Kevval and Deepakk, two visually-challenged visionaries who refused to let their disability define them.
After completing their studies at Ruia College, they realized that employment opportunities for the blind were scarce. Instead of succumbing to despair, they envisioned an orchestra composed of differently-abled artists.
The first Udaan show was held on December 19, 2005, featuring 15 performers. Today, Udaan is a 55-member powerhouse, performing across India and globally in countries like the USA, UK, and Kenya.
Our Founders
Udaan Entertainment Group is the brainchild of its founder, Kevval Hariya, who has always been extremely enthusiastic and passionate about Bollywood music and entertainment. When he was in the seventh grade, he first thought about making a career in the entertainment industry, and thus the seeds were sown. In December 2005, Udaan Entertainment Group was formed.
Kevval Hariya graduated in philosophy from Mumbai University. He has a very positive and affirmative outlook on life, and when it comes to entertainment and music, he is assertive and bullish that our visually impaired artistes can do extraordinary work in this field.
He has a keen interest in playing and following sports like cricket and chess, reading, traveling, socializing, networking, discussing & debating on various subjects of importance as well as analyzing philosophical and psychological aspects of life. He is very sensitive, empathetic and supportive towards visually impaired and physically challenged people, firmly believing that people with disabilities are an integral part of society and should be given every possible opportunity to establish themselves and prove their potential.
He also believes that people with disabilities have the capacity to contribute to nation-building process and therefore their inclusion and participation ought to happen. He also opines that every person with a disability deserves to live a life of dignity and so the society and the state must ensure that all possible means and opportunities are provided to them. He thinks that the financial inclusion of the persons with disabilities is a responsibility of the corporate World, other influential and important factions of the society as well as the state.
He is totally blind as he lost his eyesight at the age of six due to medical complications.
Deepak Bedsa, a talented singer and performer, has been passionate about music since childhood. Born blind, he pursued his love for music with dedication and perseverance, inspiring others with his determination. His interest in music led him to participate in various school and college competitions, where he won several awards, further boosting his confidence.
After college, Deepak worked for a while, but his passion for music never faded. He co-founded Udaan Entertainment Group with his friend Kevval Harya on 19th December 2005, aiming to share his music with a wider audience. Deepak believes in using his talent to bring people together, spread joy, and make a positive impact.
As a compassionate and emotional person, Deepak is deeply moved by the struggles of others. He strives to make a difference in his own way, using his music as a medium to connect with people and bring them together.
Deepak’s musical performances are not just about singing; he loves to interact with his audience, making them a part of his show. His energy and enthusiasm are infectious, leaving a lasting impression on all who experience his music.
A graduate in Hindi Literature from Mumbai University, Deepak’s educational background has shaped his artistic expression. His journey is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and dedication.
Deepak’s singing style has evolved over the years, influenced by his idol, Kishore Kumar. He is an avid fan of Kishore Da and strives to emulate his iconic singing style. Initially, he sang in a nasal voice, but after careful listening and practice, he has developed a unique voice that pays tribute to Kishore Da’s legacy.
Beyond his singing talent, Deepak plays an integral role in Udaan Entertainment Group’s management, contributing to decision-making and fostering strong client relationships. His multifaceted approach has been instrumental in the group’s success.
Deepak’s empathetic nature has also led him to support various social causes, reflecting his commitment to giving back to the community.
